At least I don't have to be jealous anymore
There's a reason why people are told not to announce there pregnancies until after twelve weeks. That reason is the risk of miscarriage, which is pretty high: one in four. Remember this recent post? Yeah, well it turns our Brittany miscarried, which sucks big time. My MIL told me in one of her phone calls.

I haven't talked to George and Brittany about it. They don't call weekly like MIL does, so as far as they know we don't even know there was a pregnancy. I'm not sure I agree with the general wisdom of not mentioning an early pregnancy lest you then have to inform everyone of a miscarriage. Of course I have a blog that enough of my friends read that I wouldn't have to worry terribly much about people getting the happy news and not the sucky news. I am left with the dilemma of how to offer my sympathy given that I got both pieces of news second hand.

(hugs) for both you and Brittany. Personally I always found the taboo of speaking about pregnancies and miscarriages strange, given that the latter is as common as it is. :S

Yeah, I don't understand it either, but I have just come to accept that some people are uncomfortable talking about some things for reasons that I have to assume make sense to them.
