Preliminary Results
I got some preliminary results from my amnio this morning. The final results which will be more accurate and which will test for mosaicism won't be available for another week or more, but so far so good. The quick and dirty test showed normal karyotypes, and also indicated that the fetus had both an X and a Y chromosomes. I'll wait for the full results before breathing a sigh of relief and knitting anything, but its a promising sign.

It's too bad it looks like Margaret will be the only girl in her generation (my sister has two boys, Warren's brother has three boys), but I expect that she will make the most of it.

I'm sure Margaret will be more than happy to make hay out of her status as the only girl. You just need to find a family with a girl and two boys to befriend so everyone will have a dance partner. :-)

Cautious congratulations!

You mean, a family with a boy and two girls ... of the right age ... where the boy is willing to let Margaret be the boss.

Keeping fingers crossed for a continued uneventful pregnancy. Best wishes for you all.

Both sets of my boys' grandparents got only grandsons. I'm sure Margaret with find a way to use her status to her best advantage. ;)
