Fetal Demise

As expected there was no heartbeat today. The fetal pole was measuring at about the same as last time, actually slightly smaller, but that's probably down to margin of error and different ultrasound people. So yeah, it was dying last week when we saw it an probably succumbed not too long after that.

I'm scheduled for a D&E first thing tomorrow morning. That'll actually be done at my local Harvard Vanguard center in Davis Square, in the OB/GYN department where I go for all my pregnancy care once it's out of the hands of the fertility center.

My RE mentioned that my other options would be a hospital, which is difficult to schedule, or Planned Parenthood, which is problematic for other reasons. I noted that if confronted with a protester imploring me not to kill my (already dead) baby it might not be a happy scene. I think she thought I meant that it would be upsetting for me, which it probably would, but what I meant was I'd damn well do my best to make it way more upsetting for the protester. But that's not going to happen and the stupid protesters will be spared having all my pent up anger and frustration over this unleashed upon them. It's not that they don't deserve it, it's just that my local place will take better care of me and is convenient.

Oh, and my RE is great because she reminded me that with my blood type (A-), I will need rhogram, which is a reason why just waiting to miscarry naturally is not a good idea, not that I had any inclination to go that route.
