Ice Queen

I've finished Ice Queen. Sadly, I can't carry the look off the same way the model can. Quote from the husband: "You look like a nun." Luckily for me I have no interest in a spouse who tells me what he thinks I want to hear. I may look a bit dorky in it, but I think it will serve it's primary purpose of keeping my ears warm on those days when the temperature is well below freezing. The plan was to wear it under my winter hat, I'm figuring the lace weight alpaca will be thin enough, but still add warmth. It may look really silly under a hat, but there are days in Boston when it gets so cold that even I don't care.

I ran out of beads for this and had to order more. I thought I had plenty, but I ended up using more than one vial of seed beads. I didn't figure out why until I did the bind-off. Since I had gotten disgusted with the whole provisional cast on thing I improvised something with a knit-crochet combo. That something worked very well and looked great, but it turns out that it also used twice as many beads as the written instructions would have used. Oops. It's pretty, and I like the beads, so no big deal.
