Short on Cheer, or Something
I went to Sears yesterday to get the kids pictures taken, and I must say that it was our least pleasant experience with Sears Portrait Studio so far. The manager couldn't use their software, and the photographer was visibly frustrated with her little subjects. I mean, I understand it is frustrating to photograph two small kids who don't want to stay put, but if you work at Sears Portrait Studio that is your job, especially at this time of year.

On the other hand I am a sucker for pictures of my kids, even the ones that didn't make the print-worthy cut.

Wow, they both have really grown! Very cute!

But I hear you about Sears. We gave up on them. Picture People always do a better job. Check them our some time.

My impression was that Picture People were WAYYY more expensive. For < $200 I got a whole bunch of prints (16 sheets, plus 2 10x13s, 40 Christmas cards, and the whole thing on a CD.) If they aren't way more expensive I might be willing to give them a try. We had a great photographer at Sears last December, so I guess I got spoiled by him.

We did Target this year after having a good experience last year.

The photographer did a good job, but there picture staff wasn't so good. I was about to tell her to move and just me use the software! But the photographer came over and helped us out at that point and she was awesome. And I got all my special offers discounted then. And I got the CD for $40 extra, last year it was only $30.

Picture people is way more expensive. I couldn't even get the CD, you had to spend like $900 to do that. And it was an awful experience. They stuck us in the makeshift booth at the front of the store, which was a disaster as Juliette was 1.5 and not very cooperative to begin with. We waited an hour and a half for our "appointment" and we were completely rushed thru the picture taking. I was unhappy with the pictures, but they were to be Xmas gifts. And they cost a lot.
