And the winner is...
Heading to the hospital now, so it looks like Larry is the likely correct guesser.

Edit: Bah. Apparently pissing me off will cause my contractions to cease temporarily. We are back home for now.

Yay! Good luck.

Was just checking in to see if there was any progress before bed.

They sent me home because labor stalled, probably due to me being irritated. In addition to no bending on the flu stupidity there is a new thing that means they're not supposed to use their bathtubs. Now that I'm home the contractions are starting back up, but I will hold out until morning

No bathtubs? Why on earth not? They made my labor so much more bearable.

Apparently some woman at some other hospital somewhere had some sort of bad outcome that involved people not being able to get her out of the tub and now the department of health is going around to hospitals and telling them they can't use their tubs unless there's three feet of space around them on all sides. They hit Mt. Auburn last week.

With Margaret I spent about 95% of my time before the actual pushing in the bathtub. My plan this time around was to camp out in the tub again since it was such a win last time. Personally I think that natural childbirth without access to a large tub of hot water is crazy talk, but we have a plan.

At least then, Jom Kwon can watch Margaret?

I am also truly impressed at how much emotions can effect labor. Makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint I guess. If you suddenly don't feel safe, it is worth temporarily halting labor to get out of danger.

Larry is still the correct guesser - barely, at 11:12 pm.

Congratulations!!! (Otherwise, would you have to have jettisoned whatever name you picked to name him Phil? And endure groundhog jokes for the rest of his life?)
