Short Help is Pretty Good
Another unconventional milestone: First time shoveling snow at 19 months exactly.

I handed Margaret the small, short shovel that I used to keep in the boot of my old car. I just wanted to keep her occupied while I cleared the sidewalk, but she actually moved some of the nasty slush in a helpful way. Later she insisted on helping her daddy too.

Cool! In a few years, she can start earning her keep by shoveling driveways up and down the block. :-) (Do you and Warren still have kids that come around the neighborhood to dig out your cars after storms?)

I love how much they want to help at this age - it's so cute. It's too bad that usually the ability to contribute in a useful way doesn't develop until after the urge to do so has died back a bit. Good for you for finding something where she could actually be successfully helpful!

You need an "OMG she will destroy us all" tag for posts like this.
