We're doing a lot less dancing these days, what with having a toddler to look after and all, but we did go dancing last weekend and again yesterday. You would think that I would learn from past mistakes. I have to some extent, and have been avoiding the quickstep for some time. Mind you, I still do other dances. You would think that I would be careful the way my pelvis has been creaking and popping lately. Well, yesterday we took Jomkwan with us to the MIT dance. She seemed to be having a good time, got a little dancing in, but seemed to prefer watching and playing with Margaret, which allowed me to do some dancing while not toting around a toddler.
So there was this Hustle, which is not a standard dance really, but Warren is very good at it and it's fun and I was feeling positively giddy about the prospect of dancing while only bearing the weight of the baby actually in utero... It was an absolutely fabulous hustle until the end when the little guy shifted a bit, and ever since then it has felt as if he's trying to force my pelvis wider in the front-to-back direction, mostly in the form of putting a lot of pressure on my tailbone from the inside. Apparently I am a slow learner.
On the plus side I can dance while six months pregnant and carrying nearly 24 pounds worth of wiggling toddler. It may not be quality dancing, but it's not something you're likely to see on Dancing With The Stars.
