Boston Organics Order

After reading about it in the Davis Square community I decided to give Boston Organics a try. I just got my first box.

I signed up for a small box every other week with a 50/50 mix of fruits and vegatables. I was actually expecting a bit more in the way of quantity, but then I've gotten used to prices at the Foodmaster where I have not been buying organic. On the other hand, the quality of produce at the Foodmaster was one of the reasons why I though this sounded like a good idea, and we'll see how long the stuff lasts. It probably seems like less when you're picking it off the porch than when you're carting it home from the store.

For my own reference, the box contains:

  • four banans
  • three bosc pears
  • three fuji apples
  • two navel oranges
  • one head of cauliflower
  • one large bunch of red chard
  • one bunch of grean leaf lettuce
  • a container of oyster mushrooms
  • a bag with seven small russet potatoes
  • one very large tomato
  • two large yellow onions

The onions must be the replacement fot the avocadoes listed on the web page. I'd listed avocodos as something I didn't want to get, and I'm pretty darn happy to have the onions as we were running low.

I hadn't told Warren about this. Grocery shopping in my chore. I did say that I'd make dinner tonight, something that I never do, so perhaps he expects that something is up.
