Work boots
The guy from Metlife who came by to have a look at my car today was pretty confident in his assessment of what happened. He believes that someone jumped on the hood of my car. Someone wearing work boots. He pointed out the faint footprint that I had missed in the smudged road salt on the hood.

Interesting - you weren't parked by a work site, were you? If so, you might want to ask around a bit...

I was also wondering why someone might want to jump on the hood of a parked car. Where they trying to get away from something? Reach something high? See over something? Climb over something?

Nope, I was not parked at a work site. I was parked in front of my house. Also, this happened between midnight and 8am, so I'm guessing it wasn't some contruction worker mistaking the car for a step ladder. There is nothing you could possibly reach better from the hood of my car in that space -- even an NBA star wouldn't be able to reach the lower tree limbs from there. There also wasn't another car parked in front of me overnight, so its not like they could have used it for that, and the boot print is facing the wrong way for that anyway.

To sum up, the work boot print really points to the whole thing being intentional.

The other piece of information that may be relevant is that we often get beer cans tossed into our yard from next door, which is a house (two family, like all houses in this area) used as student housing by Tufts.

There's also a housing project a few blocks down as a secondary suspect.

Oh, and on another note - happy Solstice!

It's times like this when "harm none" can really cramp one's style.

Doh!
Yeah, that's pretty annoying if it was semi-intentional.

Should I be using a different email address than AOL?
