Cibeline
At Warren's suggestion I'm going to be getting my dress for Margaret's wedding from Cibeline in Davis Square instead of making it myself.

For the other Somerville natives around, it might interest you to know that said shop will do custom modifications to their clothing line. In my case said modifications are fairly serious as they involve making an A line knee-length skirt into a floor length full-circle skirt. The price is also very reasonable considering what I'm getting. Silk isn't cheap. I think their prices for custom tailoring aren't very different from their off the rack stuff. Its a good data point to have for those who are really picking about getting exactly what they want and who are willing to pay for a nice dress.

I often contemplate custom tailored clothes (or at least slacks) as a way to get ones that actually fit, but the price always puts me off. :(

Yeah, its certainly a special-stuff-only kind of thing. I guess the advisory is that if you're going to get anything at that shop you might as well have it custom fitted.

Oh, if I ever get anything there, I'll definitely get it custom-fitted. (If I'm paying $240 for a jacket, it better be custom fitted. :)
